Guess who just wrapped up their U.S. Senior Sneakers tour? Yup, that would be me. It was such a beautiful experience getting to reconnect in person with some of the amazing senior mentors in my life in Missouri, Iowa, Michigan, and Montana. Indeed, it led me to write this reflection on the passage that wraps up the Abraham “highlights reel” that we are reading a bit of each day in the lectionary right now. The closing passage (for July 2) is one I’ve never preached on before, but it came alive for me in a new way during the conversations I’ve been having this past month.
More good news to share: Let’s Talk about Truth was awarded 2nd place in the Catholic Media Association Book Awards, in the Professional Ministry category. Eighteen authors and designers from Ave Maria Press were honored this year—an amazing tribute to the work of an amazing publisher. And, I’m so grateful to Collegeville Institute's Bearings Online for sharing an interview I did with another wonderful writer/communications guru, Rhonda Miska, regarding Ethical Social Media Engagement.
Where to next now that my Senior Sneakers tour is over? In a couple of weeks I’ll be heading to the Church Network Conference in Minneapolis, MN. If you are a parish business/HR manager or church administrator, these are “your people” and you should know about this wonderful ecumenical organization. I’ve enjoyed attending this gathering once before two years ago and learned so much in such a short time. Looking forward to being with the community again!
